Our Father, slowly
Matthew 6:9–13
The Lord’s Prayer as a lifelong teacher.
Broadly evangelicalNew to faith
Most devotional material assumes you already know the vocabulary. It says grace, or the Word, or quiet time, as though everyone were handed a glossary. If you are new to this, that is not a gentle place to begin.
This season starts from the Lord’s Prayer, which is what Jesus offered when people asked how to pray and which has served as a first prayer and a last prayer for two thousand years. The sessions take it a line at a time, slowly, explaining nothing you did not ask about.
No jargon. No assumed background. No sense that you should already know.
Every term that could be jargon is either avoided or explained in the sentence where it appears. You will not need a second source open.
The Lord's Prayer is short enough to memorise in a week and deep enough to spend a life on. The sessions treat it as both.
The Still exploring lens is a real option, and choosing it changes how the sessions speak. You are not asked to have decided anything.
Written for this season
Every session is written by a person and reviewed by the advisory council. These are open to read in full, so you can judge the writing before you trust it with a morning.
